Cheektowaga Hockey's RWB Cross Rinks Program

WELCOME!  To the Cheektowaga Hockey Programs Red, White & Blue Cross Rinks Program.  Our cross rinks program is one of the original and most exciting Cross Ice Hockey Programs in Western New York!  The program is modeled after USA Hockey's American Development Model or ADM Program.

The program is designed for Mite (8 years of age & younger) or Beginner aged players that focus’ on skill development using small areas (stations) of the ice to help promote learning and fun at an early age through repetition in active practices & half ice games.  There are many coaches on the ice that give detail instruction during both practices & games.  All our coaches are certified & screened through New York State and USA Hockey.  We also are always looking for future coaches that want to volunteer their time.  Players that are registered in the Cheektowaga RWB Program are divided up by age & skill and are placed on in-house teams that scrimmage once a week with no scores in a non-competitive type atmosphere.  Our goal with this program is to give players a solid foundation at an early age, so that players can move up through the ranks of the Cheektowaga Warriors Hockey Program.

The program cost is minimal for residents & non-residents in the Western New York Area.  The cost is $275 for residents of the Town of Cheektowaga, $300 for Non-Residents. The schedule typically consists of 1 cross ice game, 1-2 practices per week, starting in late September and goes through March of the following year.  We average usually a total of 55-60 ice times a season.  Any ice scheduled during the week is scheduled no earlier than 5:00pm and no earlier than 7:30am on weekends.

The Cheektowaga Hockey Programs RWB Program is also apart of the Western New York Amateur Hockey Leagues (WNYAHL) Jamboree League.  This league was formed 2 years ago; it gives the more skilled 7-8 yr. old players in our program a chance to compete against other organizations, so they can be ready for competition when the player moves up to the next age group which is full ice Squirt Minor (9U Travel).  There is no extra cost for this, there are no scores kept, jamborees are held once a month by other organizations in the area.  Jamborees were designed for players to play in cross ice games against other organizations in the Western New York Area with a carnival type atmosphere.

We thank you for choosing Cheektowaga’s Hockey RWB Program!  We are looking forward to a lot of fun & instruction in the sport of ice hockey for you the parent and your youngster!  We hope your experience with us is a positive one!
